PreservArt is a multidisciplinary research project that addresses the preservation of historical audio recordings stored on magnetic tape. Combining conservation and restoration practices with scientific analysis and semantic data modelling, the project aims to tackle material degradation and support long-term access to audio heritage.
The PreservArt team is currently conducting on-site assessments of historical magnetic tape collections, combining material inspection and documentation to inform preservation and digitisation workflows.
